Michigan’s Keweenaw Peninsula

Exploring Michigan’s Hidden Gem: The Keweenaw Peninsula

Growing up in such a naturally beautiful place brought me into photography. I fell in love with composing scenes in my viewfinder while exploring the Keweenaw. Some of the most rugged and remote adventures have been the most fruitful in the image making process. Often overlooked as a destination, the Keweenaw Peninsula is a place of natural beauty and wonder.

Lake Superior lapses the rocky shoreline, the birds and animals wander around the vast forest expanses and we who call it home often take for granted what we have right at our finger tips. I wanted to put together a guide about exploring my home so you can come and enjoy this beautiful place. During this four week series, I will bring you along to some of my favorite spots in the Keweenaw, best places to photograph, and the best food/coffee stops!

One of my favorite spots on the entire peninsula is Hunters Point. Nestled on the rugged shore of Lake Superior, Hunter's Point in Copper Harbor captivates its visitors with its natural beauty. As they soak in the serenity and admire the rugged terrain, one can't help but feel a sense of awe and appreciation for the natural beauty. There is a short hiking loop that brings you to the end of the tiny peninsula, overlooking Lake Superior and the waterfront of Copper Harbor. This little town will be the first of four posts here on the blog. Stay tuned, this will be dropping July 21st 👀
